KATHMANDU:

Prime Minister KP Oli has said that he will work toward reviving the erstwhile Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist), CPN-UML.

Speaking at a meeting of the parliamentary party on Sunday evening, PM Oli said that both the decisions of the Supreme Court were against him adding that a meeting of the Central Committee would be summoned soon after reviving former CPN (UML).

PM Oli said the Supreme Court had ruled against the spirit of party unity.

“Both the decisions of the apex court were not pleasant for us. But we will move forward by accepting the decision of the court”, he said.

“If anyone withdraws his support for the government, I will take a vote of confidence within 30 days. Otherwise, I will play the role of a sincere opposition.

In response to the question raised in the meeting regarding those elected in the National Assembly, State Assembly and local level by-elections after the formation of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP), he said that it would be resolved on the basis of legal provision.
